Margam Wedding photography

By Chris Francis

I have had the privilege to photograph many weddings at Margam Orangery. The light in the orangery is great and the castle backdrop and staircase is phenomenal. The grounds are always immaculate in every season and it is a wonderful place to hold a wedding celebration. I am always pleased when I photograph at this fantastic venue, it is always great to come away with stunning images. Here is a small slideshow showing Alex and Lisa’s wedding at Margam Orangery. They had their ceremony in the Orangery and a blessing in Margam Abbey with about 100 guests. We were able…

Bury Port Village hall wedding

By Chris Francis

Back in May I photographed a fantastic wedding at Bury Port. Sarah and Nick got married at Church after Sarah got ready at her family home. I started documenting their big day with my wedding photography from there and continued through the day and night. Their celebration continued at the local village hall and was a very relaxed summer garden party kind of wedding. Love these two. So cool. Just and enormous amount of love that they have for each other. I remember in the speeches Nick said ‘I actually do love Sarah a little more every time I look…

Burry Port Wedding Photography

By Chris Francis

Well it’s been a hard summer. I have had such good intentions yet, things seems to have slipped away from me. I meant to blog every wedding I did, get my website sorted, be super productive and ensure I kept on top of everything. Then the wedding season hit hard in April/ May for me! Weddings have been backed up and editing had been long and arduous with a slow PC and hot weather! However, I am feeling on top of my game at the moment especially when it comes to framing. I don’t seem to have to crop out…

Bryn Meadows Wedding Photos

By Chris Francis

Stunning views from Bryn Meadows Golf Club I had always wanted to shoot a wedding at Bryn Meadows Golf Club. The views form there are stunning and I really love the grounds. It obviously got attention from the Gavin and Stacey TV comedy being filmed there once, but I had seen many Bryn Meadows wedding photos and wanted to explore the place myself and provide a documentary response to a wedding day there. I know that one day I would get the opportunity to photograph a wedding at Bryn Meadows Golf Club and when Emma and Dan asked me to…

Brecon Wedding Photographer

By Chris Francis

Oh what wonderful scenery there is on our doorstep. Just the drive up to Llandefalle in the Brecon Beacons was a pleasure. Apart from getting a little lost up a random lane it made me want to be a Brecon Wedding photographer all the time. Jo and Mike got married in St Matthew’s Church and had the reception a Felin Newydd House, where Jo and her family also got ready. Felin Newydd House Wedding Photography. I’m not sure if it has a licence for weddings, but it should do. If it did, or does (I really should do my research),…

Llanerch Vineyard wedding photography

By Chris Francis

There is no denying it, I sure am wine fan! When I heard about Llanerch Vineyard we rang them up and booked a 3 course meal and was so impressed we bought an experience there for my parents anniversary. The wine is to die for and the chef there is fantastic. The setting and grounds are perfect for a wedding celebration. I had been waiting for someone to book me for Llanerch Vineyard wedding photography since they announced that they were going to do weddings and I was landed when Lauren and Wayne booked me to cover their wedding reception…

Rosedew Farm wedding photography – Paul & Rhi

By Chris Francis

It was from back in 2014 but I am¬†especially excited to share some images from this beautiful wedding¬†at Rosedew Farm. Rhian and Paul had asked me to take some family shots for them a few years earlier and loved them so much that they decided I was the one to take their wedding photographs too! They have a love of the coast and the Glamorgan coastline featured in all their¬†locations, the family shoot being at Ogmore and the wedding at Rosedew Farm, just set back a little from Llantwit Major beach. The wedding styling was perfect and complimented Rosedew Farm’s¬†barn…

James and Judy’s Wedding at Llandaff Cathedral and Cardiff Castle

By ffotos

James and Judy got married in Llandaff cathedral. They booked me while I was travelling Asia. After some email dialogue and¬†viewing my website they decided to book me without meeting. ¬†We actually met for the first time the day before the wedding at the wedding rehearsal in Cardiff. As they both live in Brighton, with James being originally from Cardiff and having¬†strong connections to LLandaff there was no where else they could have got married. What a Cathedral. I love it there, it’s just a shame that photographers can not stand to the side of the couple and are restricted…

The Wedding of Adam and Emma at Canada Lake Lodge

By Chris Francis

Emma and Adam got married in Canada Lake Lodge just north of Cardiff. This is a beautiful setting for a wedding and I have always wanted to photograph a wedding here so it was a pleasure to have been asked to shoot Emma’s wedding. Seren and Robert’s wedding at Nant Garw forestry was set in such a beautiful location. Sam and Mark Welsh’s, ‘Welsh’ Wedding

By Chris Francis

Sam and Mark got married in Barry Registry offices last year and had the reception venue held at the local community hall in Wenvoe. I met Sam at their family home in Wenvoe to capture a few getting ready moments before I went to meet Mark where I jumped on the big red London double decker bus with the rest of the wedding party to Barry registry offices. So glad I managed to capture the shot of ¬†Sam’s parents waving as the bus goes by. The ceremony was lovely and continued with a ride on the bus around Barry Island…

Asriel got ready at her mums house in Grangetown where I met them to start the day and the ceremony was held in Whitchurch Rugby Club.¬†It was the first time I had covered a Muslim wedding ceremony. I was aware that¬†it was similar to a Christian Wedding where vows were given and certificates are signed and I love new experiences and challenges, so I was very excited to capture the event. When I arrived the Imam…

I’ll leave you to enjoy a few the photographs of their big day.    …

By ffotos

Charlotte and Mike’s¬†Llandaff Cathedral Wedding Charlotte and Mike got married at the amazing Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff. I had yearned to shoot a wedding here for years. Mike got ready at the Copthorne Hotel, indulging in a few glasses of champagne, while Charlotte did exactly the same at¬†her family home with her girlfriends. It was easy for me to capture the boys getting ready and then shoot off up the road to meet the girls and capture the excitement of the preparations.…

The Wedding of Claire and Robert – St Germans Church Cardiff

By ffotos

Claire and Robert Cooper- St Germans Church Cardiff Wedding Photography Claire and Robert got married in July 2013 in St Germans Church, Splott, Cardiff. They both got ready at home¬†not far from St Germans Church and I¬†was invited to document the entire proceedings, from getting ready, right through to the first dance, which¬†I prefer as it allows me to tell the whole story of the day in pictures. I had not shot at St Germans before and¬†it was a nice surprise to have a very accommodating Vicar managing the church who allowed me to move around the church¬†freely, having consideration…

Cardiff City Hall Wedding photography – Eleanor and David

By ffotos

Cardiff City Hall Wedding Photography Eleanor and David got married at Cardiff City Hall in July 2013. They booked me via two recommendations from different people! I am normally so happy to be recommended by anyone, but by two independent people I was ecstatic. Eleanor got ready at the Parc Hotel in Cardiff which a delight to work in. There was not much natural light in the room but some really interesting shapes to work with. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and they put on a great spread for the wedding reception later that day too. Eleanor and…

Nice day for a Whichurch Wedding

By ffotos

I met Ryan and Nicola at a welshbride wedding fayre at St Donat’s Castle and Arts Centre. Ryan was wearing a Rhianna T-shirt which instantly caught my attention! He told me that it is the only T’shirt that Nic will let him wear with another woman on ūüôā Now that is true love I thought! There always needs to be some form of compromise in relationships! Nic and Ryan were fun to talk with and I thought that these are definitely clients for me! They booked me a few days after the fayre and I was overjoyed. I met with…

Lisa and Declan – Tewin Bury Farm Wedding – Eat, Drink and be Married!

By Chris Francis

When Lisa and Dec asked me to be their wedding photographer I was overjoyed. I have known them both for years. Lisa is a long time fiend of my partners from back in the day, when they were interns in Marks and Spencer in London. Collectively known in many circles as the M and S girls, this crew goes way back to the 90’s and Lisa is the last but one to get married from the group. I wonder who the last is!?!¬†Pressure is¬†on now! It is always a pleasure to be asked to document a couple’s big day…

Tracey and James’ wedding at Wesley Memorial Church Taibach

By ffotos

My first wedding of 2013 arrived on St Davids Day. Tracey and James decided to tie the knot at their local chapel – Wesley Memorial Chapel in Taibach, PortTalbot.¬†Like many of my clients Tracey booked me for my documentary approach to wedding photography. Many of my clients are not big fans of having their photographs taken and my approach fits well, as I aim to capture moments rather than staging photographs throughout the day. The ceremony was to begin at 2pm and I met with James, his best man and ushers at about 1:30pm. Joking about James showed very little…
