Saran and Chris wed in the historic town of Great Barford where they live in mid-September this year. They found me through Facebook, having seen some of my work via a friend’s timeline.

I drove up to Bedfordshire the night before as to avoid any traffic issues and was also able to attend the wedding rehearsal meet the vicar and explore the area a little before the event.

I met with Chris at the church a few hours before the ceremony, which was also going to be their daughter Arya’s christening so I could take in the preparations for the day, before heading off to meet Saran at their home to capture the girls leaving for the church.

The church was lovely, with a choir at the back, and subtly dressed for the occasion, the vicar kindly let me take position at the front of the church which is always so much better perspective being able to capture expressions during the ceremony.

With Saran’s family also travelling up from Wales too attend the wedding, there were a few strong welsh voices to help that choir sing the hymns during the ceremony including Guide me O thou great redeemer (Bread of Heaven), which echoed in the church and all our hearts. It was a beautiful ceremony Arya taking centre stage leading Saran up the Isle, followed by her Christening, such it cutie she would have stolen the show even if she was not part of the main act!

The Vintage Tea Party Reception was held in the community hall which had a great feeling to it, decorated with fabulous bunting which had been created especially for the event, Vintage tea pots as centre pieces with country garden flowers and lots of yummy looking cakes too. There were pink balloons and fun and laughter all round.

We managed a photo-shoot at sunset in the field opposite their home in the village and everything had a really personal feeling to it. Thanks for choosing me to capture your big day guys, it was a real pleasure. Enjoy the blog.
