Cardiff City Hall Wedding Photography

Eleanor and David got married at Cardiff City Hall in July 2013. They booked me via two recommendations from different people! I am normally so happy to be recommended by anyone, but by two independent people I was ecstatic.

Eleanor got ready at the Parc Hotel in Cardiff which a delight to work in. There was not much natural light in the room but some really interesting shapes to work with. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and they put on a great spread for the wedding reception later that day too.

Eleanor and David hate posing for photographs, and are really uncomfortable in front of the camera, we did a pre wedding shoot at the Cardiff barrage, where they soon found out that posing for pictures and setting up loads of shots really is not my thing. I do the usual group shots to include family members and recommend a maximum of 6 shots which usually is all that is needed, and they were really happy with pure documentary photographs.

It was the first time that I shot at the Cardiff City Hall and I loved the ceremony venue, being a round room, with great light with all the guests tiered around the happy couple in the circular room.

After the ceremony we spent about 20 minutes taking the all-important group shots outside the city hall and then took a private walk towards the Park Hotel where I took some natural photographs of them before they enjoyed the reception and resumed my normal documentary coverage…..

Check out a selection of the photographs below. The main gallery is on my main website here.
