Louise and Gaizka had their wedding blessed by the church at St Fagan’s at the start of this month and I was the lucky photographer chosen to capture the events of the day. These guys met at work 5 years ago and hit it off straight away. Now living in America they contacted me after seeing my wedding work on line. I was thrilled to be asked to document their day! What a fab location.
St Fagans is a beautiful church in a very charming location, and the happy couple chose the location as Gaizka’s family had come from Spain, Louise’s family from Tredegar and Louise and Gaizka themselves had come back from America. Cardiff seemed like a convenient location to host the celebrations with plenty of hotels and easy transfers for all of their family and friends.
I loved the theme of the marquee at St Fagan’s, subtly decorated with hints of colour and pieces of Spain and Wales, beautiful flowers it was a joy to photograph. The roof above the dancefloor is black material covered in fairy lights – Great for the first dance photos.
It’s great when families come together in this way but to also have two cultures meeting and celebrating in their own little ways is great to watch and document. It’s amazing how children get along so well without even being able to speak the same language as each other and these kids got on like jam and scones.
St Fagan’s is such a fantastic place to go for a photo-shoot. The grounds are amazing and I loved going for a walk with the happy couple at sunset although the sun dropped quicker than expected! I got some fab shots by the fountain and great documentary shots by the lake. Can’t wait to get to process and show you the lot, but for now here’s a taster of the day. 🙂
